NCSU Libraries eBook Readers February 2011 Update Part 1

In January the NCSU Libraries now have had 48 eBook Readers for loan through the D. H. Hill Library’s Technology Lending program. 47 Amazon Kindles (5 Kindle DXs, 30 original Kindles) have a user-developed collection of 466 popular titles.

Kindle 36 is a 4 hour loan Newsreader with TIME, Newsweek, The News & Observer, The New York Times, & Wall Street Journal updated daily. Currently, this device is broken and awaiting replacement.

Two Sony eBook Readers each have 100 volume Classics Libraries (Sherwood Anderson to Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henrik Ibsen to Emile Zola).

NCSU Libraries eBook Reader January 2011 Update

In December the NCSU Libraries added 12 new 3rd generation Kindles and now have had 50 eBook Readers for loan through the D. H. Hill Library’s Technology Lending program. 47 Amazon Kindles (5 Kindle DXs, 30 original Kindles) have a user-developed collection of 466 popular titles. Two Sony eBook Readers each have 100 volume Classics Libraries (Sherwood Anderson to Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henrik Ibsen to Emile Zola). All of these 49 devices can be checked out for a week.

14 NCSU Faculty Publications Added to NCSU Libraries Kindle Readers

As part of the Celebrating Faculty Research & Scholarship event that will be held October 27th from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Special Collections Reading Room, the DH Hill Library has put 14 recent NC State authors books on the Amazon Kindles available for loan through the NCSU Libraries Technology Lending Service.

NCSU Libraries EBook Readers July Update

A Barnes & Noble Nook is now available for checkout at the D. H. Hill Circulation Desk.

In April the NCSU Libraries started loaning out 30 iPads on 4-hour loan. This has been a popular service with over 3,400 iPad checkouts in the past 14 weeks.
