2 Upcoming TRB Webinars in May 2012

TRB

NCSU Libraries is now providing access to The National Academies Transportation Research Board Webinars. Members of the NC State community can sign up to attend upcoming TRB Webinars by using an email that ends in @ncsu.edu.

To take advantage of NC State being a TRB sponsor when registering for an upcoming TRB Webinar you must use an email that ends in @ncsu.edu in the registration form.

Upcoming TRB Webinar for May 2, 2012:

May 2, 2012
TRB Webinar: Practices and Examples to Manage Sign Retroreflectivity in Compliance with the MUTCD
TRB Webinar: Practices and Examples to Manage Sign Retroreflectivity in Compliance with the MUTCD

TRB will conduct a webinar on May 2, 2012, from 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. ET that will explore the results of TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Synthesis Report 431: Practices to Manage Traffic Sign Retroreflectivity. The report will illustrate efforts that agencies are taking to meet the requirements of the revised Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), which establishes maintenance criteria for traffic sign retroreflectivity. Participants must register in advance of the webinar, and there is a fee for non-TRB Sponsor employees. A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be provided to attendees who register and attend the webinar as an individual. Participants must register at least 24 hours prior to the start of the webinar, space is limited.

Upcoming TRB Webinar for May 10, 2012:

May 10, 2012
TRB Webinar: Cleared for Takeoff! Airport Inspection and Ramp Safety Practices
TRB Webinar: Cleared for Takeoff! Airport Inspection and Ramp Safety Practices

TRB will conduct a webinar on May 10, 2012, from 1:00 PM ET to 3:00 PM ET that highlights current ramp and runway safety practice research completed by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP). There is no fee to register for this webinar, participants must register in advance, and no Professional Development Hours will be awarded for this session. Audience members will gain an understanding of the current state of ground handling practices, including inspection for foreign object debris and damage; ramp safety measures and training; and use of towbarless tractors. Participants must register at least 24 hours prior to the start of the webinar, space is limited.
