Registration is now open for the DELTA fall 2011 workshop series and the schedule of classes begins on Tuesday, September 6. By attending DELTA workshops and seminars, you can explore best practices for teaching online, gain techniques for effective teaching with technology strategies, and advance your knowledge of Learning Management Sytem (LMS) tools.

Registration for DELTA’s Summer 2011 workshop series is now open to NC State faculty, staff, and graduate students! Our Summer classes start on June 7, and offerings include instruction on using the learning management systems Moodle and Elluminate, as well as developing techniques for research and incorporating screen recording, narration and video into online courses.
DELTA workshops and seminars are offered at no cost. For a full description of classes and to register, go to delta.ncsu.edu/workshops. Apply now for the 13th Annual Teaching and Learning with Technology Summer Institute for Faculty at D. H. Hill Library from May 16-20, 2011.
The Summer Institute is a program for NC State faculty interested in web-enhanced or online instruction. The program includes 20 hours of workshops, plus lunchtime seminars and optional lab sessions, spread over one week.

The NCSU Libraries has found that some of the greatest instructors on campus especially when it comes to emerging technologies are our own students. And we’re proud to help them pass their knowledge on to you with seminars like the ones listed below.
Inkscape
Learn about Inkscape, a free vector-based graphic editing program. Bring your laptop with Inkscape already loaded, if you like, and learn about it in a progressive series of classes offered by Joby Jull, a Junior majoring in English. These classes are in the Presentation Practice Room in D. H. Hill’s Learning Commons.
Classes are 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

Digital SLR Cameras
Daniel Marcus, an Engineering Junior, is holding two identical sets of photography workshops, and an additional class on April 21 on outdoor photography. Except for the outdoor class, all sessions will be held in the ConeZone, near the Creamery on Floor 1 of D. H. Hill’s West Wing.
Classes are 6:00-7:30 pm.

Registration for DELTA’s spring 2010 Workshops and Seminars is now open to faculty, staff, and graduate students. Spring classes start on Tuesday, January 26, and continue through April 29. Over 75 classes including a new Moodle Express: Top Five Basics workshop are being offered. New seminars include, Showcasing Large Course Redesign, Teaching Strategies for Online Group Work, and Life After Vista: An LMS Update for Faculty. Workshops and seminars are offered at no charge.
